Lauren Conrad: Woman on the Rise

Looks like the Hills cast are full of surprises today. Before I posted that Justin Bobby was/is a model and not only is Lauren Conrad coming out with her own clothing line (due out this fall), now Lauren might be joining him in the modeling circuit.

Lauren Conrad was approached by Marc Jacobs, to walk in his upcoming fashion show for New York Fashion Week. But don't think the models are too happy about it. On top of having to sign releases to be on TV, they have strong feelings against Marc Jacobs hiring a reality TV star to gain publicity.

What do you guys think? The issue was raised when Maggie Gyllenhaal replaced Kate Moss for Agent Provocateur, instead of another model... Is it really more effective advertising when a celebrity is used instead of a model?

Which do you guys prefer, seeing a celebrity sell a product, or model?

It really does not matter to me..the only thing is that i would notice the celebrity and therefore the product more easily than a model. Especially if the model is unknown.

It depends. Celebs are always going to bring more publicity, so it's smarter money wise to hire the celeb, who cares anyways, except the starving models...

eh, I think I'd go with the models, celebs are such liabilities. When they are great they are really great, but when things go south they can get really bad (Michael Vick anyone?). But I guess I am looking at this from a business perspective.

A model, since I want so see the product, not the celebrity and i feel like that takes the attention off the product or brand.

Isn't she too short to model. I remember last season that the reason they picked Whitney instead of her because she was too short to model.

I forgot to add that it was on a fashion show that they were working on for teen vogue, the one with the really weird umbrella.
