Nice Chunk of Change

I think everyone by know should've seen or at least heard of Dateline NBC: To Catch a Predator. The investigative show on child predator's online. Dateline NBC hires a group, the Perverted Justice, to go online and chat with adults to pose as underage children and invite them over to the house where they are interviewed by Chris Hansen and then arrested.

I thought Perverted Justice was a non-profit organization group that was simply trying to help the investigation. Silly me. Xavier Von Erck, the founder of the organization, filed for a tax exempt status on his IRS, for his $120,000 salary. That's right... a tax-exempt status for his $120,000.

According to the application, NBC paid Perverted Justice $802,520 last year for the seven stings it conducted, roughly $115,000 per sting. Even the lowly administrative assistant is claiming over $100,000 on her IRS form.

Nice chunk of change for a non-profit gig, huh?

Not to mention that non-profit does not mean that they don't pay people... or even pay them well. Common misconception.

Just because you're doing good work doesn't mean that you should have to live like a pauper, so to speak. $120,000 isn't really even that much...

I agree that that amount of money to earn for that work is ridiculous. They also should change the name of the show to "To Entrap A Potential Predator"

    LOL....

Blogger chick...instead of focusing on so much TV watching...maybe you'd better go take some public administration classes and educate yourself about nonprofits.

What these people do is priceless...and they do it well.

And...ITA with the comment about you being a bitch with the "lowly" comment.
